On my way to class this morning I decided to stop at the golden brown bakery in saint Joseph MI. While walking in I thought to myself I should ask my girlfriend if she wants something, so I texted her and asked. Moving forward It was obvious to me as soon as I entered that their employee Jackie woke up on the wrong side of the bed. While waiting for the response from my girlfriend I was the only customer in the bakery. I let Jackie know that I was waiting for a response and that I needed a minute. She grew anxious. So I told her what I wanted while I waited. She rung up a muffin and a milk for me. Still waiting for my girlfriends response Jackie starts huffing and puffing that she won't be able to ring any other customers up. At which point in time I told her "well it's a good thing I'm the only person in here." She responded with a melodramatic "I guess I'll just void this out" Ive never experienced such tone/attitude from somebody in the service industry. Management should consider implementing an etiquette class for their employees. I will not be coming back.

- They only accept credit cards when purchasing more than $5.

- The employees often seem irritated and impatient. My girlfriend and I have been in there a number of times and we usually feel like an inconvenience.

The good:

This review is only for the breakfast. Service was good. There's a nice little place to sit with a pleasant view of town. Although the coolers were noisy, we could converse. Coffee was too weak for our taste. Although the breakfast sandwiches were reasonably good, some items were obviously not made right there; for example, the hash browns were rectangular,

It was cozy and had quite a large sit down menu for a bakery. Our breakfast sandwiches were delicious. We were just disappointed in the freshness, texture and flavor of the cookies. Which included the frosted and the regular round ones.

The bad:

- The donuts. Would definitely recommend.

Yummy freshly baked goods! FYI: NOT nut allergy friendly. Do have some gluten free items.
